The invasion of Iraq was not ordered on the basis of a Bush Adminstration claim of a firmly established role of the Iraq regime in the 9/11 attacks, anymore than the US Invasion of Tunisia in 1942 was justified by FDR's claiming the Tunisians bombed Pearl Harbor. The invasion of Iraq was not ordered on the basis of a Bush Adminstration claim of a firmly established role of the Iraq regime in the 9/11 attacks, anymore than the US Invasion of Tunisia in 1942 was justified by FDR’s claiming the Tunisians bombed Pearl Harbor.
