Who is JDZ? I am reading "A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn and wonder if there is any connection there. I also just rec'd an email showing terrible trashing of an area in the Arizona Sonoran Desert, supposedly by illegals leaving their clothing??? backpacks??? all over----wondering if this is true or not??? and why would they do this? goting naked into the States???? doesn't make sense. I fully agree with you, and I'm afraid that our Party's ill-advised "nativist" stance will cost us dearly in the coming elections. Further, it is absurd in a country where the non-natives are the ones who've done all the work - and this includes your people and mine, and all your readers unless there's the odd Comanche out there. This is an issue the GOP could have snatched from the Democrat party - whose Union constituency will never countenance a Gastarbeiter program. We can't afford to squander such opportunities.
