For liberals, the only thing that matters is the outcome, not how you get there. For stark and recent evidence of this, look at the minority "reasoning" of the Supreme Court in Ricci. Torture the constitution to get to the "right" outcome? Not a problem. Liberals are only concerned about process and the rule of law when it can help them enforce the "rights" of enemy combatants or illegal aliens.
