Congratulations! From here, it looks as though you did the right thing.
Now you just need some sheep and your own rifle range, and then I can come stay with you as long as you like!

My theory is that if you both sell and buy a house, you're even. You have a loss on the old one but got the new one cheap.

Essentially you swap mortages with the guy.

The difficuly is paperwork, not price.

Are you related to Almet Jenks?

Our own ties to Clarke County will continue since we will continue to be involved with the Blue Ridge Hunt. We're just going to add Old Dominion.

Thanks for the tips.

Cheers,
David

Welcome to the neighborhood. I am just to your north and across the Blue Ridge in Clarke, on the Shenandoah. As soon as the Rap. clears up, I will be heading to Fredericksburg to fish the shad run. Try blaze orange and or lime green darts and focus on the lower third of the pools. If the temps hit the upper 70s this weekend the morels will soon be about.

Happy for you! Congratulations on your beautiful new farm. Hope that you and your wife are happy there. 131 acres is a lot better than 6...Post some pictures of the hunt!

Many ancestors of mine from Virginia, and I have kin there still.

We have over 130 acres of mostly wooded, very hilly and rocky soil, up in Live Free or Die hill country that one can't ride on except along trails, but that we may eventually retreat to. We are slowly winterizing it (originally a family summer camp), and I plant a fruit tree here, perennials there, dig out a vegetable garden and plot to keep goats and chickens if we ever live up there. Bears, moose, wild turkey, tho the locals poach the deer and turkey from our land.

But for now, chained in this suburb working to get the brats thru college and launched.
