I ahte to admit this because it shows I have been paranoid for about 50 years or more. My parents got married in the depths of the great depression. Their stories where common dinner table discussion. One reoccurring story was that the jobs created by the federal and state government were doled out to those who were registered as Democrats. I registered to vote at age 21, 1964 as a Democrat. I am very much a conservative and typically vote for Republican candidates but still today I am registered as a Democrat. Because I always knew that when tough times came again that only one party would discriminate against me because of my political beliefs. I still believe that almost 50 years later.
