Jules Crittenden compares the New York Times report of 16,273 Iraqi deaths by violence in 2006 to the infamous Lancet study which estimated 655,000 Iraqi deaths in three years, and wonders: doesn’t this mean that the Iraqi casualty rate has dramatically declined from more than 200,000 per year to 16,000?
