If Only…

,

Newsmax:

President Barack Obama on Friday called on Americans to respect the verdict handed down in the George Zimmerman trial and compared himself to slain black teenager Trayvon Martin.

“Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago,” Obama said during a surprise appearance in the White House briefing room.

“Damn!” a lot of Americans are thinking to themselves, hearing that one.

There are two sets of stupider people than BO: the ones that voted for him and the media.

I wish one of the media sheep had asked the following:

If that could have been you 35 years ago, are you suggesting that you would have gotten into a fistfight with a neighborhood watch patrol? If so, could you explain why? If not, could you explain how you would likely have been shot?

Today I got into a discussion with someone who suggested that Trayvon Martin only looked threatening because he was black, not because he was acting suspiciously and wearing Gansta Garb.

I actually looked up the origin of the Hoodie on Wikipedia:

The hoodie took off in the 1970s, with several factors contributing to its success. Hip hop culture developed in New York City around this time, and the hoodie’s element of instant anonymity, provided by the accessible hood, appealed to those with criminal intent.

Back in the 60s we always called the local teenage miscreants “hoods.” Rather ironic that in the 70s they started wearing them.
