WGNO:
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)— Earlier this week the “dumpster gator” became a sensation in Uptown New Orleans on Perrier Street and Upperline Street.
The “dumpster gator” shocked neighbors who wondered how the dead alligator ended up in a Demo Diva dumpster.
As to how the alligator ended up in the dumpster is still a mystery?
Large dead alligator discovered in New Orleans DumpsterWGNO’s Kenny Lopez contacted Demo Diva and the owner Simone Bruni went by to check out the “dumpster gator.”
Bruni told Lopez that the alligator would be going to the landfill along with the other debris and trash in the dumpster.
But before doing so, she put a flower on the gator’s body as a sign of respect for the animal.

I am so thrilled that the carcass of an alligator has a flower on it. How wonderful. I’m sobbing as I write this.

Maybe that woman and a couple others but most aren’t too interested. Those dinosaurs went from endangered (It ain’t legal huntin alligator down in the swamp, boy) to ubiquitous as rats in New York in record time with the associated nuisance calls, endangered/killed pets and people, even a long running TV show showing multiple alligators being hooked, shot in the head every week. Maybe if it was a calico kitten or cocker spaniel. Hell, it could be an infant and only half the country would be interested.

Come on, man! It’s New Orleans. People find plenty worse things in a dumpster than dead alligators.
