He boasts a 59in (1.499 meter) chest and a 29in (.737 meter) neck, meaning he has to wear pony coats when it rains and has had to have an extra large collar fitted. The dog’s paws are almost the size of dinner plates.
While Samson’s awesome build is impressive enough for a fully grown dog, this huge hound is only three years old and will grow even more.
Julie Woods, 54 and her husband Ray, 65, whose last dog was a small terrier, spend £60 a month on dried food and turkey legs for Samson and take him on four two-mile walks a day.
Mrs Woods, from Boston, Lincs, said: “He’s a lovely dog whose bark is definitely worse than his bite. People are often intimidated when they first see him because he’s about the size of a small horse and very quick.

Great Danes and Newfoundlands and two very big breeds so it is no wonder the dog is so big. If you want a truely huge dog they are breeding Neapolitan Mastiff’s to be about the size of a horse.

Samson is in trouble ! He had cruciate ligament surgery on his right leg last year which the Daily Mail paid for (£4000). Now he needs the same surgery on his left leg. The price has gone up, £4500, plus £500 each for 2 x-rays and all his drugs and after care on top of that. He’s insured for £4000, but that still leaves us a lot of money to raise.

WOW !!!!! I have a black lab that looks alot like him. Samson is very beautiful, and if I could have another dog I would love to have one like him (Samson). Diego (my lab) is very much a lap dog and he is 84lbs… I dont think I could handle having one the size of samsons sit on my lap. But I’m sure he is a great protecter. Good luck with his surgery hope everything comes out ok… if i could help I would.
