It Can Happen Here

, , , ,

With little attention from the public or the MSM this week, Congress made Barack Obama’s most alarming campaign promise into a reality by funding an expansion of the Americorps federal youth community volunteer program into a vastly larger, uniformed and politically-indoctrinated cadre of young people.

The Obama Administration has already had its own little Kristallnacht, in which public fury was deliberately whipped up against financial industry executives by government officials, who were publicly pilloried as allegedly responsible for causing the economic crisis by greed and dishonesty. The supposed wrong-doing of today’s American financial sector, just like the false accusations of the burning of the German Reichstag by the Jews in the 1930s, is being used as a similar excuse for a governmental power-grab and for similar extraordinary punitive steps against a minority.

The Washington Examiner finds the creation of an “Obama Youth” also decidedly sinister. These kinds of paramilitary cadres, “just as powerful, just as strong” as the regular military, are a traditional hallmark, and effective tool of social control, favored by totalitarians everywhere, by the Lukashenkos, the Castros, the Chavezes, and now by Barack Obama.

With almost no public attention, both chambers of Congress in the past week advanced an alarming expansion of the Americorps national service plan, with the number of federally funded community service job increasing from 75,000 to 250,000 at a cost of $5.7 billion. Lurking behind the feel-good rhetoric spouted by the measure’s advocates is a bill that on closer inspection reveals multiple provisions that together create a strong odor of creepy authoritarianism. The House passed the measure overwhelmingly, while only 14 senators had the sense and courage to vote against it on a key procedural motion. Every legislator who either voted for this bill or didn’t vote at all has some serious explaining to do.

Last summer, then-candidate Barack Obama threw civil liberties to the wind when he proposed “a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the regular military. The expanded Americorps is not quite so disturbing, but a number of provisions in the bill raise serious concerns.

To begin with, the legislation threatens the voluntary nature of Americorps by calling for consideration of “a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people.” It anticipates the possibility of requiring “all individuals in the United States” to perform such service – including elementary school students. The bill also summons up unsettling memories of World War II-era paramilitary groups by saying the new program should “combine the best practices of civilian service with the best aspects of military service,” while establishing “campuses” that serve as “operational headquarters,” complete with “superintendents” and “uniforms” for all participants. It allows for the elimination of all age restrictions in order to involve Americans at all stages of life. And it calls for creation of “a permanent cadre” in a “National Community Civilian Corps.”

But that’s not all. The bill also calls for “youth engagement zones” in which “service learning” is “a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency.” This updated form of voluntary community service is also to be “integrated into the science, technology, engineering and mathematics curricula” at all levels of schooling. Sounds like a government curriculum for government approved “service learning,” which is nothing less than indoctrination.

Its obvious the course we must take if such a thing happens. Its also obvious the types of individuals that will be drawn to this sort of thing, much like what was seen with the Gestapo, SS, Stasi from East Germany,(more info here) http://www.infoplease.com/ce6/society/A0861010.html . Of course Mr. O has also seen how the Nation Of Islam dresses its para military arm and will emulate that. The “type” of members these organizations need are usually the intellectually challenged and have sociopath tendencies, many will be akin to rabid but obedient dogs. (Hell all he need do is recruit inner city gang members) We all know what has to be done in that case………Make no mistake the time for patriots to act will be soon upon us.

So…this is how it all begins. Quietly, among our own elected officials, an organization to put our idle youth to some “good work.” Let’s take children 8, 9, 10 years of age, but them in uniforms, teach them some discipline, and put them to use for the “common” good.

So soon we have shock troops in place, children with guns, authority, and underdeveloped senses of cause and effect relationships put in charge of important aspects of our society. What will we do about this? Will we sit around thinking that no one would be so dastardly as to put these military grade trained children to a personal power grab? Of course we can trust the “chosen one” not to trample our individual rights…can’t we?

Sure, just like Germany in the 1930’s, or Sierra Leone, Darfur, Fiji, and many other nations today. Let us not just say that these are the realms of “developing nations.” It will happen anywhere that we let it happen.

Please uderstand it has already begun. All Barry Sotero (aka Barack Hussein Obama, or so he was known when he attended college in Indonesia) has to do is enlist the de-sensitized children of the inner city / rural areas. The ones who have lived on a diet of violent video games and TV programs, who see nothing wrong in fraggin’ a few people. Imagine it – millions of children, ages 15-19, armed with no concept of right or wrong, because the liberals have taken God from school, from society, and from where-ever they could. Put weapons in the hands of those children after a thorough mind-wiping / indoctrination by the government and America takes a giant leap into totalitarianism.

Can anyone say “Red Guards” and “Cultural Revolution”?

May be time to light out for some relatively free place like …Kazakhstan??!

I know this string is two years old but I couldn’t help but post this.

I hate to confuse the issue with facts but, President Obama is hardly responsible for the expansion of volunteer programs like AmeriCorps. The President Obama would have hardly been able to expand volunteer opportunities in for young people in this polarized climate without the historic support and expansion of AmeriCorps by President George W. Bush (the first Republican President to support AmeriCorps and declare a National AmeriCorps week) and conservatives like Orrin Hatch. Senator McCain also vowed to expand AmeriCorps opportunities for young people during his bid for the Presidency.

On another note, are you really comparing the young people of America who answered the call of President G.W. Bush and served a year in their community tutoring children, building houses, and working in homeless shelters to Hitler’s brown shirts? Wow.

Addressing “Doyle’s” comment, do a Freedom of Information Act on the demographics of AmeriCorps members and you will see that the vast majority of AmeriCorps members in most states are white, middle-class, college girls from suburban areas. That is a far cry from the de-sensitized masses he refers to.

Lastly, AmeriCorps is far from promoting totalitarianism. The vast majority of AmeriCorps funding and programs are under the control of governor appointed commissions in each state. Governor Walker in Wisconsin has more control over AmeriCorps members in his state than does the president. It’s a fine example of local control of resources.
Take this for what you will. Hopefully, you will engage in productive discourse instead of dismissing it.

Too bad the most recent and correct response to this idiotic rant is the second to last and last one anyone will see to this point.Who went to the people of New Orleans and Mississippi to help return their homes to liveable? Who responded to the flooding in Wisconsin and tornadoes in Missouri? Americorps. Bush’s Americorps.
