China? Is that you?

I have a problem with some of the coverage of this event. A fair number of semi-authoritative people have said, flatly, that it was a plane rather than a missile. But in this video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2qKMchcgzk ), in the 42-second to one-minute range, I see what appears to be rocket exhaust burning rather brightly. Planes don’t do that, and I don’t think this is the sun reflecting off a shiny plane body. So… what’s up?
