Duchess of Cambridge Visits Old School

, , , ,

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, played field hockey during her visit to St. Andrew’s School, where she attended school from 1986 till 1995, in Pangbourne, Berkshire, England, Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. Kate told teachers and students at the private school that her 10 years there were “some of my happiest years.”

As someone married to a brunette field hockey player, I was amused to see photographs of the Duchess of Cambridge girlishly waving one of those field hockey sticks during a visit to her former school.

The Spanish Hola.com had lots of photos.

The Ottawa Citizen even revealed her school nickname.

The Duchess of Cambridge has gone back to school. The royal, formerly known as Kate Middleton, played hockey and revealed her childhood nickname — Squeak — when she returned to her elementary school for a visit Friday. …

Kate, who captained the hockey team at her high school, joined a group of 12-year-olds for a training session in a green-and-blue Alexander McQueen tartan coat and three-inch-high boots.

The ineffable Yoko Ono marches on. This time applying her unique talents to men’s fashion.

USA Today:

Yoko Ono launched a menswear collection on Tuesday that she says was inspired by John Lennon’s “hot bod.” Among her designs are pants with large handprints on the crotch, tank tops with nipple cutouts, a flashing LED bra (yes, for men) and that pair of pants with a sheer backside.

The collection of menswear for Opening Ceremony is available the company’s U.S. stores in New York and Los Angeles now, its London store on Nov. 30 and its Tokyo flagship on Dec. 9.

Ono’s clothing line is based on a series of drawings she sketched as a gift for Lennon for their wedding day in 1969. …

Prices run from $25 for a poster to $200 for a jock strap or $750 for boots with an incense holder or open toes.

As Kurtz used to say: “The horror, the horror.”
