Erick Erickson Draws the Line

Erick Erickson, unlike so many others, is a real conservative who is able to stay in touch with reality.

In 2008, I held my nose and voted for John McCain. “If you don’t vote for him, Barack Obama will win,” they said. Barack Obama won anyway.

In 2012, I held my nose and voted for Mitt Romney. “If you don’t vote for him, Barack Obama will win,” they said. Barack Obama won anyway.

Now in 2016, they tell me if I don’t vote for Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton will win. I suspect she will anyway. But I am done holding my nose for a Republican candidate.

I could do so with Romney and McCain because, at the end of the day, though I disagreed with them on a lot of policy, I did not think either was a profoundly immoral person …

Donald Trump is different. … No one enters Trump’s orbit without getting stained. Pastors suddenly think God is off his throne and the only way to get him back is to vote for a man who supports gay marriage and men in their daughters’ bathrooms. Pro-life activists demand we vote for a man who wants to keep open Planned Parenthood. Small government conservatives demand we support a man who wants a powerful Presidency and a strong Washington. Free trade Republicans demand we vote for a protectionist who would punish any business that sets up shop elsewhere. Border security Republicans demand we vote for a man who hired illegal aliens for cheap labor and who, until he ran for President, supported open borders.

Enough.

I’m not holding my nose for a Republican candidate for President who is not a Republican. I will not hold my nose and vote for a man who funded the Clinton machine for years and had them at his wedding. I will not vote for a man who funded Democrats against Republicans then funded establishment Republicans against conservatives. I will not hold my nose for a man who mocks the values I hold dear. I will not hold my nose and vote for a man who mocks my God.

And I tell you this truthfully — if you vote for Donald Trump, do not ever expect a better candidate. Support for Trump sets a threshold for immoral cretins running for office. If he can get your vote, they can get your vote. You will find no better candidate in the future if Trump is who you support now.

Donald Trump has no virtue. He has no good character. And he has provided no good argument for me to vote for him other than that he is not Clinton. He’s just a Clinton donor who is as morally flawed and terrible as her.

Read the whole thing.

I concur. HOWEVER, the consequence of a Hillary win is not simply having a horrible president or an administration based on corruption. It will be finishing the transition of this country into a French-style socialist state. This is not something from which we will be able to extricate ourselves, and it will eventually turn the US populace into the sort of lame, uninspired sorts that populate much of Europe. The greatness that was the United States will not survive. I’m not sure Donald Trump could make America great again, but the Clintons will surely finish her off.

Obama has planted the seeds of Americas destruction Clinton will water and tend them. Like it or not the next president will come from one of the two parties. Clinton or Trump you pay your money and you take your choice.

When I was a young man just out of High school one of my cousins, about the same age, was a lot of trouble for her parents. It was discussed in hushed voices and I was really more interested in work and cars so I didn’t pay a lot of attention but I was aware of what was going on. She (my cousin) was constantly threatening to kill herself, to commit suicide if her mother and father didn’t do this or that for her. Her parents were of course very upset and tried very hard to “help” her and babied her and gave her things she asked for so of course she continued to play her game and every time she got mad she would claim she would commit suicide. She even cut her wrists one time, although clearly not bad enough to be mortal, just to get what she wanted. This finally broke up her family and her dad moved to another town. Her mother never learned however and continued to enable her tantrums. Finally one day in a big argument her mother had a stroke and after a few days she died.

This is what the Erick Erickson’s of the world are doing to the Republican party and the Paul Ryan’s of the party are the enablers. After the party is destroyed the Erick Erickson’s will be fine and blaming others for the porblems.

My cousin! She’s still around some 50 years later, three failed marriages and three terrible children later she is still busting balls and destroying lives and relationships. Like Erick Erickson completely oblivious to the damage she causes to others.

Perhaps Mr. Erickson should compare and contrast the party platforms. Then he might consider the possibility of making it politically profitable for the wrong people to do the right thing.

So Mr Erickson finds Trump as morally flawed and terrible as Hillary? Funny, that. Trump’s entire adult life has been in the public eye, like hers. Can Erickson,or anyone, name ONE scandal that can hold a candle to ANY of hers? No,it boils down to hatred of Trump’s hair and his inability to yodel the top 20 of the Conservative Credo when Erickson or Kristol snap their manicured fingers. Just LOOK at his supporters! Policemen,Border Agents,Military,Women Without College Degrees! Morons! Ok,Erick, vote for your favorite cardboard cutout conservative, and we can all share in the fun of Rule by The Lizard Queen.

Let’s me see…
Vote for Hillary and her crime cartel
or
Vote for Donald and drain the swamp…
my oh my…
I just can’t make up my mind.
Maybe I’ll just sit this one out and have a little of what you’re smoking, Erick.

“Support for Trump sets a threshold for billionaire immoral cretins running for office”

I fixed that for him. And the next time I see one running for office, I’ll remember that.
