Satellite imagery from Google Earth taken on November shows hundreds of Russian main battle tanks at a new military base on the outskirts of the Kamensk-Shakhtinsky.
The large-scale military base only 18 kilometers away from the border with toward rebel-held territory in eastern Ukraine. Images show hundreds of main battle tank like as T-64 and also T-62M, while a thousand military trucks, artillery systems and tankers are located slightly higher.
Russia has been ramping up its forces near the border with Ukraine since August and now poses the greatest military threat since 2014, the year Moscow annexed Crimea, the commander of Ukraine’s armed forces told Reuters in an interview on Tuesday.
Muzhenko said Russian troop levels were at “the highest†since 2014, when Moscow annexed Crimea and then deployed forces to eastern Ukraine.
“In front of us is an aggressor who has no legal, moral or any other limits,†he said. “It is very difficult to predict when it will occur to him to begin active combat actions against Ukraine.â€

The problems in Ukraine are (1) that the Nazi militias have prevented the implementation of the Minsk accords, and (2) Poroshenko’s junta is illegitimate. Poroshenko is also deeply unpopular with only an 8% approval rating. He has been provoking Russia to attack Ukraine in order to improve that rating. The recent incursion by Ukrainian naval/coast guard vessels is only the most recent provocation. The likelihood that Russia will attack Ukraine is somewhat less than the likelihood we will return Alaska to Russia: zero.
Poroshenko is being pushed into these confrontations by the American Ambassador to Ukraine. Our meddling there never ceases.
Poroshenko managed to get the Rada to approve martial law in those oblasts that voted against him. He has also got the Rada to cancel the friendship treaty with Russia, which governs, among other things, Ukraine’s sea access to the Sea of Azov and Mariupol.
Once the northern and southern gas pipelines are completed, Ukraine will become irrelevant.

Russia does intend to take the Ukraine. They do intend to kill tens of thousands of Ukrainians. They have always hated/resented the Ukrainians.
