One who does not know geography would think a missile which speeds along at 7,672 MPH would reach the U.S. in half an hour. I suppose it depends upon the locations of launch and the nearest point of U.S. lands.

Shanghai is about 4,300 nm from Honolulu. Another ~2,100 nm to the closest point on the U.S. west coast.

I suppose it’s no big deal, it’s that I have a thing about how the wordsmith craft their words to appeal to emotion. Of course that all is meaningless when the subject is creative writing. Was this article meant as literature rather than a reporting of fact?
