There are two things that differentiate a slave or serf from a citizen:
1. The constitution
2. the right to own and carry weapons/guns.

That’s it. You don’t need 10,000 words to explain it any better.

When Canadians lost their guns it was because they don’t have that right enshrined in a constitution. Ditto for the Australians and now the New Zealanders.
