She a disgusting human being, but most political careerists are. I also find it particularly sad that Stewart can apparently see the dots but in incapable of connecting them. I blame the Department of Education for that.

There are two likely and provable reasons for this missing money that keeps happening in so many federal dept. budgets.
1. The money was diverted to something else and they don’t us to know.
2. The money was stolen, given away, used to buy political favors, etc.

I suspect both. Our political and appointed leaders are not honest and they have proved that time and again. So why wouldn’t they misuse funds or launder it into their pockets?

This attitude will likely pose a significant challenge for the next Secretary of Defense, who will need to address not just fiscal accountability but also the entrenched culture of inefficiency.
