What American Accent?

,

What American Accent Do You Have?

QUIZ

———————–

I got:

Your Result: Boston
You definitely have a Boston accent, even if you think you don’t. Of course, that doesn’t mean you are from the Boston area, you may also be from New Hampshire or Maine.

Doesn’t make much sense to me. I’m from Pennsylvania originally. And I certainly do not speak like a Bostonian.

I would come from the Inland North, according to that quiz.

Quite happy with it… since I’m French (So sorry. Nobody’s perfect).

Daniel Lucraft

I’m from the Northeast: Connecticut, New Jersey or Rhode Island. I’m fine with that given I’m from London.

Having said that I don’t know what American accent I wouldn’t be fine with…

I went to Rhode Island on holiday this year and it was nice! So I’m happy with it.

Sam L.

I’m from mid-Missouri, and the quiz says I’m from Philadelphia! My father-in-law is from Philly. Was I perhaps infected when my family toured through there in 1953??

“”You have a Midland accent” is just another way of saying “you don’t have an accent.” You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.”

You hear that?! I’m not originally from the US yet I have the talent of a TV/Radio broadcaster.

Hmm– northeast. NOT you notice Boston. But some think 26 years in the Southwest have affected me. Accuracy anyone?
