They look like Western Diamondbacks (Crotalus atrox) to me.
I ran over a pretty large snakeskin when I was mowing yesterday. I expect I have my own rattlesnakes right here atop the Blue Ridge.

Yep, methinks they are Westerns. Big fellows. But our eastern Timber Rattlers can be a piece of work too. Stumbled into a baby last year in MA. About 10″ and cute as a button. Left it alone, but enjoyed seeing it. Wonderful predators. I would never kill one unless I were starving.
