This photo actually comes from a 1975 Warn winch ad and is believed to have been taken on the Black Bear Road near Telluride, Colorado. There are some really scary roads out West.

Nothing at all like that on Black Bear Road or pass near Telluride. I’ve done Black Bear in a Dodge Ramcharger and a Ford Explorer and there are cliffs, but absolutely nothing at all like that. I was told in 1975 when the ad came out that it was staged on a shelf road in Montana.
