Biggest Crooks Out There

, ,

Washington Post:

Here’s an interesting factoid about contemporary policing: In 2014, for the first time ever, law enforcement officers took more property from American citizens than burglars did. Martin Armstrong pointed this out at his blog, Armstrong Economics, last week.

And the figures mentioned refer only to Federal Asset Forfeiture!

One Feedback on "Biggest Crooks Out There"

Way back in the 50’s a history teacher told the class that in medieval England robbery along the king’s highway was a problem so the king put some soldiers on the highway to protect the Gentry and make travel safer. These soldiers were called “highway men” by the locals. The soldiers weren’t too effective in stopping the criminals but they did soon discover that they could rob the peasants and the king wouldn’t care. so at some point the biggest threat to the population on the kings highway were the “law enforcement” the government put there to protect them.
