Many Without Power In Central PA

, ,

It was windy. Trees came down, and we’ve been sitting with no power for a couple of days. You don’t realize how dependent on electrical power you are until you don’t have any.

Down in Virginia, we had a back-up generator. Our PA farm was always just a vacation place and, besides, power is usually very reliable and service restoration quick here in PA. Not so much this time.

if you plan to stay with a portable consider the honda eu series, the 7000 in particular.

expensive but their noise level is a quantum leap lower than other similar units, and the noise gets old fast. the power they produce is quite compatable with electronic devices we all use now.

consider a multi-fuel unit, think of your wife pouring gasoline into a hot generator as opposed to simply connecting a propane tank.

I sat out a diminishing hurricanewith my wife in NC some years ago and learned the hard way everything I didn’t plan for- and the planning isn’t complex.
