"Do you realize the bullet out of an AR-15 travels 5 times as rapidly as a bullet shot out of any other gun."

Let’s compare service round bullet sizes.
The AR-15’s .223 Remington cartridge (the virtually identical civilian version of the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge) fires a 60 grain bullet at roughly 3000 feet per second.
The .30-06 Springfield’s (used in WWI and WWII) 110 grain service round bullet was fired at 3400 feet per second. A deer hunter is likely to use a 150 grain bullet (2900 feet per second) or a 180 grain bullet (2700 feet per second).
Correction: US service rounds were primarily 150 gr. I guess the 110 gr. surplus ammo I remembered must have been from some other country. Thanks for the correction in Comments. Complete .30-06 data here.

Hard to say if the Paste-eater in Chief made that up on his own or was fed it by one of his crack team of Ivy educated homosexual, tranny, or pedophile (or D. – all the above) elites.

I think the service round for the 30.06 is around 150 grain .

I looked it up. You’re right. I was going by memory, which persuaded me that I recollected seeing 110 gr. surplus ammo for sale many times. Maybe some other country used 110 gr.

There is only one reason that the AR15 platform re-dubed the M16 was chosen for the combat rifle; because of the compactness and lightness of the round. The change to the M16 allowed the combat rifleman/soldier to carry almost twice the ammo at the same weight as the old ammo. It isn’t a better or more deadly bullet it is merely lighter thus provided a tremendous tactical advantage.

The 110 Gr is for the 30 Carbine – a completely different weapon.

No, I have bought 110 gr. surplus ’06 ammo.

In any case, that is far from stupidest thing that idiot and his handlers have said or done.

I have 150 and 180 gr. .30/06 bullets. The lighter for sighting in.
An additional plus of the .223/M16/M4 is the light recoil. I play with a Ruger semi-auto .22 cal. and can put out eight or ten accurate shots in a heartbeat. The .223 cal. Ruger Mini-14 is almost as good.
Old age. I usually carry a .30 cal. lever action. It is light and the recoil is much more comfortable than the .30.
