Ahhh! What is the difference between a bob cat and a lynx. Very little indeed. They may in fact be identical and the difference is in the eye of the beholder and the latitude.
Is the Alaska brown bear a different sub species from the grizzly? Is the mountain lion the same as a puma, cougar, catamount? What is the difference between a crow and a raven? What is the difference between a bob cat and a lynx?
@gonewiththewind My guess is that its probably a Eurasian lynx. They have tufted ears not typical of a bobcat (which is a also a lynx, but a specific type of lynx). Bobcats are unusual in that they don’t have the tufted ears, furry soles (of their feet), and lives in areas with lesser amounts of snow.
Grizzlies are a type of brown bear. They are large in size and have longer greyish guard hairs which is where they get their name from.
Puma, cougar, catamount, panther, and mountain lion are regional names for the same creature.
Crows are different from ravens in their social structure, size, vocalizations, feather structure, and their inability to interbreed.
