Latest Millennial Trend: “Lazy Girl Jobs”

, , ,

Going viral among Gen Z, well-paying, undemanding jobs, facilitating an agreeable life/work balance.

While many millennials swear by the hustle culture and believe in giving their all at work and learning new skills that can be turned into a side hustle, there is a trend among many Gen Z to not let jobs dictate their life and take things easier.

After the trend of “quiet quitting”, which refers to doing the bare minimum of what is required of employees, a new trend going viral on social media is “lazy girl jobs”.

You must be wondering what “lazy girl jobs” refers to and if it means slacking off at work. The trend was made popular on TikTok by influencer Gabriel Judge. She explained the trend on her Instagram account named The Anti Work Girlboss (@antiworkgirlboss).

Lazy girl jobs refer to those jobs that require minimal effort, pays decently and is flexible with timings thus allowing employees a good work-life balance. Judge defines lazy girl jobs as something that you can basically “quiet quit”. She says there are a lot of jobs out there where one could make 60-80 thousand and not do much work and be remote. She said there are many non-technical tech roles like a marketing associate, some type of account manager or a customer success manager that are very good lazy girl jobs.

In another video, she shared her views and said having a 9 to 5n job is still cool but having a job where you can exercise work life balance and not be bound by fixed working hours is truly lazy girl jobs. She also shared how she has a lazy girl jobs programme that aims to help women find such jobs.
“And what we mean as lazy girl is a safe, high-paying, remote job that provides a safety net. Women are powerful beautiful and creative when we aren’t worrying about money. We have so many resources on how to get your next lazy girl job.”

Snake Falls Out of Sky, Lands on Woman — Then Both Attacked by Hawk!

, , ,

Click2Houston.com

A snake fell out of the sky and landed on a woman mowing her yard.

The bizarre incident didn’t stop there. Peggy Jones was then attacked by a hawk.

Jones was on her tractor mowing at her home in Silsbee, near Beaumont on Tuesday afternoon. She describes how suddenly a snake fell on her, wrapping around her arm.

“The snake was squeezing so hard, and I was waving my arms in the air. And then, this hawk was swooping down clawing at my arm over and over,” explains Peggy Jones. “I just kept saying, ‘Help me, Jesus, Help me, Jesus.’’

The hawk eventually ripped the snake off of her arm and flew away with it. Jones thinks the hawk came down on her at least four times trying to get the snake. She says blood was everywhere. Her husband heard the commotion and came running.

“I was yelling and screaming. He didn’t know what I was saying. I thought I was bit by a snake.”

Her husband took her to the emergency room where she was treated for cuts from the hawk and bruising from the snake squeezing on her arm.

There was no snake bite, but she was monitored for a bite just in case. Jones also discovered how close she really came to being bitten by the snake.

“I discovered the lens on my glasses was broken and there was snake venom on my glasses.”

One Has to Agree

Bastiat’s Window:

Every ten years, Sight and Sound, published by the British Film Institute (BFI), conducts a poll of hundreds of film critics, scholars, and others to produce a list of the Greatest Films of All Time. In the first such poll, in 1952, the top film was Vittorio De Sica’s 1948 Ladri di Biciclette (Bicycle Thieves, a.k.a The Bicycle Thief). In 1962, 1972, 1982, 1992, and 2002, the winner was Orson Welles’s 1941 Citizen Kane. In the 2012 poll, Kane dropped to the #2 slot, behind Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 Vertigo. Finally, participants in the 2022 poll startled the world by designating Marv Newland’s 1969 animated short, Bambi Meets Godzilla as the Greatest Film of All Time.

Actually, Bambi Meets Godzilla was not the winner of the 2022 poll, though it should have been. The actual 2022 winner was Chantal Akerman’s 1975 Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles—a 3 hour, 21 minute-long cinematic lobotomy. The Sight and Sound panel should have chosen Bambi Meets Godzilla because it has precisely the same plot and lasts only a minute-and-a-half. The plot that these two films share is hysterical when confined to 90 seconds, but becomes soul-crushing when stretched to 134 times that length.
